Out

When a bowler gets a batsman out it is said that the bowler gets a "wicket". if the ball is bowled and hits the striking batsman's wickets the batsman is given out (as long as at least one bail is removed by the ball). if a batsman hits the ball or touches the ball at all with his bat or hand/glove holding the bat then the batsman can be caught out. Leg Before Wicket (LBW) - If the ball is bowled and it hits the batsman first without the bat hitting it. however the umpire need to decide is would the ball have hit the wickets if the batsman was not there. If his answer to this is yes and the ball was not pitched on the leg side of the wicket he can safely give the batsman out. However if the ball hits the batsman outside the line of off stump while he was attempting to play a stroke then he is not out. a batsman is out if no part of his bat or body is grounded behind the popping crease while the ball is in play and the wicket is fairly put down by the fielding side.  if a batsman hits his wicket down with his bat or body after the bowler has entered his delivery stried and the ball is in play then he is out.

Wide Ball

"Wide Ball" will be declared if the umpire thinks the batsman did not have a reasonable opportunity to score off the delivery. However if the delivery is bowled over the batsmen's head it will not be declared a wide but a no ball. Umpires are much stricter on wide deliveries in the shorter format of the game while being much more relaxed in test cricket. A wide delivery will add one run to the batting team and any runs scored by the batsman. The batsman is not able to get out off a wide delivery except if they are stumped, run out, handle the ball, hit their wicket or obstruct the field.

"No Ball

A "No Ball" can be declared for many reasons: If the bowler bowls the ball from the wrong place, the ball is declared dangerous (often happens when bowled at the batsmen's body on the full), bounces more than twice or rolls before reaching the batsman or if fielders are standing in illegal positions. The batsman can hit a no ball and score runs off it but cannot be out from a no ball except if they are ran out, hit the ball twice, handle the ball or obstruct the field. The batsman gains any runs scored off the no ball for his shot while the team also gains one run for the no ball itself.

Test cricket

Test cricket is a game that spans over two innings. This means that one team needs to bowl the other team out twice and score more runs then them to win the match. Another key difference between test cricket and other forms of cricket is the length of the innings. In test cricket there is no limit to the innings length. Whereas in one day cricket & Twenty20 cricket there are a certain amount of overs per innings. The only limits in test cricket is a 5 day length. Before the game begins an official will toss a coin. The captain who guesses the correct side of the coin will then choose if they want to bat or field first. One team will then bat while the other will bowl & field. The aim of the batting team is to score runs while the aim of the fielding team is to bowl ten people out and close the batting teams' innings. Although there are eleven people in each team only ten people need to be bowled out as you cannot have one person batting alone. Batting is done in pairs.
Once the first team has been bowled out the second team would then go into bat. Once the second team is then bowled out it would normally return to the first team batting again. However there is an exception to this in the cricket rules, it is called the follow-on. The follow-on is when the first team makes at least 200 runs more than the second team made. This then gives the first team the option to make the second team bat again. This is particularly useful if the game is progressing slowly or affected by bad weather and there might not be enough time for both teams to play a full innings. If one team is not bowled out twice and a winner determined in the five days of play the game is declared a draw. Therefore it may be worth declaring an innings to create the possibility of a win rather than a draw.

Man of the Match

In cricket, Man of the match is usually awarded to the player whose contribution is seen as critical in winning the game. However, there have been many instances when the performance of the losing team's player earned him the award. Sachin Tendulkar holds the record for maximum number of MoM.
Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni was named the Man of the Match of the final against Sri Lanka.Dhoni scored an unbeaten 91 runs and shared 91 runs with Gautam Gambhir. displayed a real captain’s innings today in final at Mumbai Wankhade Stadium .

Man of the Series

Man of the Series award is given to the outstanding player, almost always the one who makes the most impact, in a particular series. This can be a player from either team, usually the winning team.  the award itself may involve cash, a trophy, or a celebratory magnum of champagne. Yuvraj Singh of the Indian team was named the Man of the Series of the 2011 World Cup of the final against SriLanka. Yuvraj scored 362 runs and took 15 wickets, winning four Man of Match awards during the tournament. He has displayed an all rounder performance in this World cup 2011. It has been a wonderful tournament for Yuvraj Singh with bat and ball. Yuvraj is the perfect man to get the Man of the series award for ICC world Cup 2011. When all is well with Yuvraj Singh, he hits the ball as clean and long as it has ever been hit.Yuvraj’s most memorable performance was in the world cup T20 2007 when hit six sixes in an over against England.

Champions of ICC World Cup Cricket 2011

India vs. Srilanka
Final Match was held on Saturday April 2nd at Mohali stadium in Mumbai, India. Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bat first. They started off pretty good and were able to pull up a score of 274. India has won the 2011 Cricket world cup by 6 wickets over Sri Lanka. They scored 277 runs. The captain of Indian team, MS. Dhoni crushed a six on the final ball to complete the chase for the Indians, who overcame a 274 run by their opponent, despite losing their first two batsmen including the master Sachin Tendulkar in the opening overs. The Indian team lifts the World cup after the long of 28 years.

Australian Team

Australia is a strong team in the world of cricket. Some of the world’s strongest players come from Australia. The Australian cricket team strongly believes in strengthening and protecting the spirit of Cricket. The Australian Cricket Team, along with the English Cricket Team is the oldest Cricket Team in the world. Having played their first match in 1877, the Australian Cricket Team has so far played abiut 682 Tests and 625 ODIs. The Australians have performed exceptionally well over the years.  Australia has won the World Cup thrice and is on the verge of a hat trick, having won the championship in 1999 and 2003. They had previously won it in 1987. They are rated number one in all the cricket ratings in the world, official and unofficial, in both forms of the game. One of the major strengths of the Australian Cricket Team is that the players who represent the team are perhaps some of the finest in the world. With Ricky Ponting, a brilliant batsman himself, leading the side, is it of little surprise that they perform son well. Other world class batsman like Mathew Hayden, Michael Clark and Adam Gilchrist form the backbone of the team, while Brett Lee, Glen McGrath and Shane Warne demolish the opposition with their accurate bowling. In the recent years the team has done particularly well under coach John Buchanan. But unfortunately, the team was disappointed when they were knocked out of the worldcup 2011 by the Indian Team. As a result, the Team captain Ricky pointing resigned from his captain title.

Pakistan Team

The Pakistan National Cricket Team is an international cricket team representing Pakistan. Pakistan has emerged as a formidable opposition winning the Cricket World Cup in 1992 and being runners-up in the 1999 edition of the same. The country has a history of producing several top-notch bowlers such as  Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis and Shoaib Akhtar. T
The 2007 Cricket World Cup was one of the biggest upsets in World Cup history when Pakistan was knocked out of the competition in a shock defeat to Ireland, who were playing in a World Cup for the first time. Pakistan began picking up the pieces and made positive strides in the inaugural ICC World Twenty20 in September 2007. The team, however, had to contend with second place losing to India in a nail-biting final. They compensated for this loss by winning the next ICC World Twenty20 in 2009 where they beat Sri Lanka in the finals.
In the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup, Shahid Afridi led Pakistan to the semi-finals but the team lost to arch-rivals India in a nerve-wracking encounter which ultimately brought an end to their World Cup campaign.

United we stand,divided we fall

A great message,in a 2 min video.  United we stand, divided we fall. If we are united as one, we stand, but if we are separated for whatever reason, the chances of remaining standing may lead us to fall. If we fight in one group we have a chance to survive, but if we are scattered at different posts, we may fall, and die

ICC Cricket World Cup

The ICC Cricket World Cup is the premier international championship of men's One Day International (ODI) cricket. The event is organised by the sport's governing body, the International Cricket Council (ICC), with preliminary qualification rounds leading up to a finals tournament which is held every four years. The tournament is the world's fourth-largest and fourth-most-viewed sporting event. According to the ICC, it is the most important tournament and the pinnacle of achievement in the sport. The first Cricket World Cup contest was organised in England in 1975. A separate Women's Cricket World Cup has been held every four years since 1973.
The finals of the Cricket World Cup are contested by all ten Test-playing and ODI-playing nations, together with other nations that qualify through the World Cup Qualifier. Australia has been the most successful of the five teams to have won the tournament, taking four titles. The West Indies and India have won twice, while Pakistan and Sri Lanka have each won once.

Runs

Runs are scored by a batsman, and the aggregate of the scores of a team's batsmen plus any extras constitutes the team's score. A batsman scoring 50 (a half century) or 100 runs (a century), or any higher multiple of 50 runs, is considered a particular achievement. The simplest way for a batsman to score a run is by the striker hitting the ball such that both batsmen can run from one end of the pitch to the other without either batsman getting out: the batsmen effectively exchanging positions, so the striking batsman becomes the non-striker, and vice versa. The batsmen may be able to run up and down the pitch more than once, crossing each time, to score two, three or more runs. A batsman can also score four or six runs by hitting the ball to or over the boundary.Four- if it strikes the ground before the boundary; six- if it crosses the boundary in the air without striking the ground. To score a run, each batsman must run from the popping crease at one end to the popping crease at the other end.A run is short if one of the batsman fails to complete the run by putting some part of his body or his bat on the ground behind the popping crease.

Cricket

Cricket is a world wide played game. It is a team sport played between two teams of 11 players. Players are selected to form each squad and 11 players are selected from that squad. Each team has its own captain, multiple batsmen, multiple bowlers and other players acting as fielders. It is a bat-and-ball game played on a roughly elliptical grass field, in the centre of which is a flat strip, called a pitch. Formal game of cricket can last anythime from an afternoon to several days. Although the game play and rules are very different, the basic concept of cricket is similar to that of baseball. Teams bat in successive innings and attempt to score runs, while the opposing team fields and attempts to bring an end to the batting team's innings. After each team has batted an equal number of innings (either one or two, depending on conditions chosen before the game), the team with the most runs wins.
People go crazy when there is a match. They support the team that represent their nation.
